Internal Library Integration – Customer Onboarding Guide
This page is intended to be shared with customers to help them engage their IT team and kick off the setup of Aptus Next's internal library integration.
What is the Internal Library Integration?
The integration is based on an automated process — where technically feasible — that allows documents stored in your company's internal document systems to be synchronized with the Aptus Next platform.
This means your team can access your organization's internal regulatory and reference documents directly within Aptus Next, always kept up to date.
How Does It Work?
The service supports multiple connection methods depending on the document management system in use — including tools such as SharePoint and similar intranet platforms.
For systems with different architectures, we work together with the customer's IT team to define the most suitable solution for ensuring secure and effective communication with our platform.
Once the connection is established:
- Documents are retrieved and synchronized incrementally, based on available metadata (e.g. timestamps, versioning, unique identifiers)
- Files are stored in our AWS infrastructure, with per-customer segregation and exclusive access by authorized tenants
- Documents become immediately available on the platform through our existing APIs
Security & Access Control
Access to documents is governed by an authorization system based on JSON Web Tokens (JWT), issued at authentication and containing contextual information (e.g. tenant, user roles).
This ensures that each user can access only the content relevant to their organization, guaranteeing a logical and secure separation of data.
